Travel with the driver on the Llanberis Lake Railway
and see the line as you have never seen it before. The Llanberis Lake Railway offers unrivalled views of the mountains of Snowdonia from viewpoints quite inaccessible by road. Our trip begins riding out of the Llanberis station from Llanberis Village along the recently opened extension , passing the Welsh Slate Museum and historic Dolbadarn Castle on the way. On a clear day magnificent views across Peris Lake to the Llanberis Pass on one side, contrasted by stunning views of Dinorwic slate quarry on the other open up. Our first stop is at Gilfach Ddu station in the Padarn Country Park, from here the train runs non-stop through the park and along the shore of Padarn Lake (Llyn Padarn) through to Cei Llydan station thence on to the terminus at Penllyn. The train making a short stop at Cei Llydan on the homeward run. Available on DVD only - Running time 95 minutes  |
