Travel with the driver on the Bala Lake Railway and see the line as you have never seen it before.

The Bala Lake Railway (Rheilffordd Llyn Tegid) offers a delightful 9 mile return journey alongside Llyn Tegid,
through the beautiful and natural Snowdonia National Park.

The 2ft gauge trains give excellent views of the lake amid its surrounding pastoral and woodland scenery,
and of the nearby mountains, Arenig Fawr, Aran Benllyn and Aran Fawddwy.

After leaving Llanuwchllyn, the line descends Ddolfawr Bank toward the lakeside,
passing through the request only stop at Pentrepiod Halt onwards to Glanllyn Flag Halt
and onto the first of a number of embankments beside the lake before gently entering the railways passing loop station, Llangower.

The line leaves Llangower on an upgrade, passing under the road bridge before dropping down through a wooded cutting to Bryn Hynod Halt,
where the line once again travels on an embankment beside the lake and then enters the rock cutting at Bryntirion .

From Bryntirion, the railway again travels along a lakeside embankment before crossing a steel girder bridge and entering the grassy cutting
and long curve leading to Bala (Penybont) Station, where the engine runs round its train for the return journey.
