We look back at a recent tour around the Surrey Fire and Rescue Service,
where we see fire fighter training equipment and operational
incidents
and, coming soon, a nostalgic look back at the former
Middlesex Fire Brigade.
The uk's fire service has in
the last 30 years or so changed radically.
In these programmes we see the modern
day fire and rescue service in Surrey and witness their training,
equipment, and
view some unique operational incidents including the major fire at Thorpe Park
in Egham Surrey,
along with a two day battle to quell a very large heath fire on
the Ash military ranges.
To contrast this, 'Middlesex
Fire Brigade' (coming soon) shows what the service was like in the 1950'/60's.
Using archive black and white photographs with a mix of modern day video footage
of some of the remaining artefacts,
it tells the story of the Brigade and shows
the now 'vintage' equipment used at the time.
If you are interested in Fire
Service history then this will be a 'must see!'
