London Transport RT - Heritage transport, steam, diesel and buses.

  • Heritage Transport:
With an emphasis on the 1950's - 1960's travel , we take a look at  preserved steam locomotives at work
on the main lines and preserved railways around the UK, as well as an historical revue of preserved
examples of Swindon built steam locomotives. We also take a look at the emerging preservation
    of modern diesel traction.
Events over a  year were filmed at the Cobham bus museum in Surrey, which features many of the
museums events and illustrates a great number of bus types, including the iconic
London Transport RouteMaster, RF and Green Line coaches.
  • Fire Service:
We look back at a recent tour around the Surrey Fire and Rescue Service,
where we see fire fighter training equipment and operational incidents
and, coming soon, a nostalgic look back at the former Middlesex Fire Brigade.

Spring Quarry - Lifting the lid on Box Hill.

  • Subterranean:
This fascinating aspect of the history of Bathstone quarrying, covers the last 2000 years,
and shows the military use of the quarries for ammunition storage, aircraft engine and
anti-aircraft gun component  manufacture  during W.W.2.
